This post comes nearly half a year too late, but at that time I was working in Östersund, a medium-ish city in Sweden. And right in front of the apartment my company rented, was a weekly car meeting.

Now, in my experience, Swedish people seem to have a special affection for American muscle cars. It is not uncommon for towns to have burnout competitions in the summer and you can often hear big V-8's rumbling around streets until the early morning in the summer. Also, it gives them something to do during long, depressing winters.... working on their cars.

I myself am Dutch, and although you can find big American cars in the Netherlands as well, it is less common and very rare in the area I come from. So I was happy to see this meeting show up on a sunny day in August last year. Hearing them all rumbling onto the square and lining up was a sight to behold.

I am not a particularly great photographer, but I tried to get creative here and there. And there's the lost non-American car included as well, like a very cool rusty and ratty Beetle. Also, I am not all that familiar with all the models, though I of course know the Camaro, Corvette, Chevy '57 Bel Air etc etc... I'd be much obliged though if someone could tell me the make and model of the green with with top full-size coupe in the fifth picture from the bottom... It seems like such a nice cruiser.

Enough words spend though, time for pictures... Enjoy, though the cars might be more commonplace for anyone in the US.

I've been to Östersund!

Sadly unless you happen to be there when the local car club has a meet like this there's nothing there except for Jamtli

That green and white thing is a 1962 Buick LeSabre I'd say.

Haha, absolutely. It's a pretty boring place for it's size. Probably decent skiing in the winter, but that's about it.
